Beautiful photography and a history lesson too. I love the top piece of the clock. It was totally unexpected. Hard to believe it is still working. The organ recitals at noon. Just so many things. I will be looking at this again later. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Monica, so glad you visited this piece. I have written a separate haiku post on the Chained Library as it is INCREDIBLE! I hope you will enjoy that too when it comes out. These places fascinate me so I am always delighted when someone is as interested as I am!
Thanks Guy. I am enjoying exploring places with my camera and sharing here is fun. Otherwise all these pictures might sit on my laptop without purpose 😂
Thank you David and thanks for sharing. I hope you can see all the pictures well enough? I was a bit worried about the last photo which is the fascinating list of all the things that had been stored in the old chest. I didn't know if your reader would be able to pick out the words, if not then I will type it out for you as it's (in my opinion ha ha) such interesting stuff.
I don't want to put you through anymore trouble... My reader is not capable of reading text within an image though, So only if you have time and energy. After all that work, you just did :)
For you, my friend, nothing is too much trouble! I won't bore you with the whole list, but some highlights ha ha
A piece of the cross, part of our lord's robe, some of his beard trimmings (!!!) , some of the ground on which he was born, one of the shoes of St William, part of the thigh of St Catherine, a part of the manger, a thorn from the crown, one of the teeth of St Philip and the hair shirt of St Francis.
Imagine proving that lot to the insurance company ha ha.

Bones do tell genetic blunders
arches asunder cross my portal
Open doors to graves plunder.
Lovely verse Richard, thank you ❤🙏
Pull out all the stops
Vaulted cathedral ceiling
Step through history
Short lyrical verse
explains more in fewer words.
History thanks you ❤
