This morning I drove to the beach and arrived at 6:21am, the moment the sun showed itself above the horizon. The 45 minute drive had been spectacular. After the winter of darkness and storms, it felt like one of those moments of connection, where Nature feeds our soul and we are connected in every cell of our body to a magnificent universe. I hope you have a chance to get out into nature this weekend and let it soothe and heal you from all the stress created by mankind.
The Peace of Wild Things by Wendell Berry
When despair for the world grows in me
and I wake in the night at the least sound
in fear of what my life and my children’s lives may be,
I go and lie down where the wood drake
rests in his beauty on the water, and the great heron feeds.
I come into the peace of wild things
who do not tax their lives with forethought
of grief. I come into the presence of still water.
And I feel above me the day-blind stars
waiting with their light. For a time
I rest in the grace of the world, and am free.
Thanks for being here, hope these pictures bring you joy.
Joy received!
Beautiful. Thank you for taking us on this meditative walk with the sun along the shore.
